Course Description:
This comprehensive 4-week course is designed for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of sewing. Students will gain hands-on experience and develop essential skills in sewing, pattern drafting, and garment construction.

Course Outline:

Week 1: Sewing Essentials
– Introduction to sewing and safety precautions
– How to read a measuring tape
– Basic sewing machine operation and safety
– Straight line sewing

Week 2: Pattern Drafting and Sewing
– Taking body measurements
– Drafting a basic bodice pattern
– Sewing a basic bodice
– Introduction to circle and zigzag stitching

Week 3: Sleeve and Skirt Construction
– Drafting a basic sleeve pattern
– Sewing a basic sleeve
– Drafting a basic skirt pattern
– Sewing a basic skirt

Week 4: Finishing Techniques
– How to fix a zipper
– Review of previous techniques and Q & A
– Tips for continued learning and project planning

Course Objectives:
